ADVANCED CARDIOLOGY SURGICAL VISIT
The Ministry of Health wishes to advise that a Specialist Team from the Sahyadri Hospitals will be conducting angiogram advanced cardiology Surgery (CABG) in CWM Hospital from the following dates;
The range of these surgeries will include:
- Angiogram -3.08.2015-14.08.2015
As this is a Private–Public Partnership between the Ministry and the Sahyadri Hospitals, estimated costs of the services are as follows:

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services wish to advise the general public that from 11.09.2015 to 16.09.2015 a team from Australia will be distributing prostheses for breast cancer patients.
The objectives for this program are to:
provide financial support towards the costs of external breast prostheses for women who have
undergone a mastectomy as a result of breast cancer
improve the quality of life of women who have undergone a mastectomy as a result of breast
Your false breast
If you have had the whole breast removed (a mastectomy) many types of artificial breast shapes are available free from the visiting team from Australia. Your artificial breast shape sits inside your bra. Women who have had part of a breast removed can use a partial prosthesis.

Public Health initiatives launched
The Hon. Assistant Minister for Health & Medical Services Mrs Veena Bhatnagar launched public health initiatives last week.
This included the launch of Non Communicable Diseases (NCD) Strategic Plan 2015-2019, NCD Risk Factor STEPS report 2011, Global School Based Health Survey (GSHS), National Rural and Peri Urban Community Profiling report 2012-2013 and Community- directly observed treatment (CDOT).
Apart from this, the Khana Kakana Cookbook was commemorated for winning second place for best health and nutrition cookbook in the world at the 2015 Gourmand Cookbook Awards.
The Hon. Assistant Minister for Health & Medical Services also thanked WHO, Australian Government, the Australian and Fijian Red Cross, Fiji Health Sector Support Program and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community.
