The Ministry's Patient Information System. This system was first piloted at the Waiyevo Hospital, Taveuni in 1999 and is now installed at Health facilities around the country.

PATIS promotes the use of a National Health Number [NHN] that allows a person's medical record of care to be accessed in any of the facilities at a 'click'. The patient is given a National Health Card [NHC] upon his first visit to a PATIS facility and this is the card that he is required to present at any other facility to enable the availability of his past occasions of care records to the facility's medical personnel.
