PH Division is one of the 4 Divisions in Head Office under the new decentralized structure & health system following the Fiji Health Sector Management Reform Project 1998 – 2002. As of Feb 2008, with the roll back of the management reform, the structure was slightly changed to include Training. The division is led by the Director Public Health (DPH), with 15 National PH Program Managers and/or Advisers looking after specific PH program & areas of activities.
The main functions & core business of the Division is to set the strategic directions and frameworks for all PH programs & issues, develop evidence based policies, facilitate the implementation of these numerous PH activities at operational levels, monitor & evaluate these PH activities including surveillance and research.
