Other benefits:
* Pay scale – Salary for Consultant in the grade MD 01 and for Chief medical Officer MD02 may be banded between the maximum and minimum range according to qualification and experience.
* The term of contract will be for three years and may be extended upon satisfactory service.
* After satisfactorily completion of each period of twelve months of service a gratuity at a flat rate of 25% of the basic salary is payable
* Superannuation Scheme (FNPF) is 8cents per dollar employee’s contribution and 8cents per dollar employer’s contribution. ie total 16cents per dollar goes towards the FNPF fund which can be collected at the end of the contact.(nontaxable)
* Subsidized accommodation – rent payable for a Grade IV quarters will be 8% of the basic salary but not exceeding $1000.00per annum. Please note . Locals would pay between $600.00 - $1000 per month if they have to rent a grade IV size quarters
* The Government will provide the officer, his wife economy class return passages and in respect of his children the equivalent of up to two addition adult class passages from the officer’s home to Fiji. There is a provision for baggage allowance, packing allowance etc.
* Leave entitlement – after completing 12 months service an officer is entitled for 21 working days leave, and three days bereavement leave.
- Posting – will be at teaching hospitals Suva/Lautoka.
- Clinical honorarium payable This can be arranged with the Fiji School of Medicine.
