Procurement & Supplement Management

In partnership with the Fiji Ministry of Health and Fiji Co-ordinating Mechanism, and with an overall goal of ensuring efficient procurement and supply management, the PSM officer has the following roles:
- Improve PSM outcomes within the PR and with SRs in using standard operating systems to deliver positive outcomes and greater efficiencies
- Build knowledge in, and strengthen systems for, the routine and accurate forecasting of pharmaceutical and health products
- Strengthen supply chain management systems to ensure the rational use of pharmaceuticals and other health products
- Ensure that national policies and procedures related to procurement and supply chain management is adhered to
And more specifically, the PSM Officer is required to carry out the following activities in relation to the above roles:
- Oversee all aspects of procurement and supply management (PSM) for the Principal Recipient in accordance with the Government of Fiji and Global Fund PSM policies and internationally accepted best practices. The PSM officer will be required to procure and supply both health and non-health products for sub-recipients (SRs).
- Develop standard operating systems for the procurement and supply chain management of pharmaceuticals, health and non health products and related services.
- Develop a framework which ensure the timely and transparent forecasting, and monitoring and evaluation of resource utilization, to further the objectives and planned outcomes of the Round 8 grant, with a particular focus on:
- A catalogue system for TB health products and pharmaceuticals
- Procurement Plan phase I and Phase II of R8 project
- Resource Mobilisation system for health and non-health products
- Capacity building of identified SR staff for proper PSM activities
